CASE STUDY
Partnership strategy
An innovation and scaling center spun out of a leading university needing help to get to the next level of impact
A foundation focused on innovation in healthcare delivery was facing two challenges: 1) sorting and managing many inbound requests for collaboration 2) developing targeted partnerships to fully scale innovations that it had developed and validated.
Defining collaborations models that support the goals of the foundation
Through discussions with internal and external stakeholders, review of prior collaborations, and study of analog organizations, we defined a set of structured criteria for the classification and prioritization of collaboration opportunities. We further developed a tiered model to provide guardrails for the depth of engagement depending on the characteristics of the partner.
A partnership strategy
Foundation reached clarity on what were the priority partnerships to pursue to advance its goals. It also was able to implement a disciplined process on how to evaluate its many opportunities for collaborations.
