National payer needed to enhance a major provider-facing cost and quality program to stay ahead of competitors. Planned enhancement was in an area in which there were critical gaps internally. Client leadership stretched with recent departures and working team lacked relevant capabilities in data, vendor, and analytics management. Analytical methodology not yet developed and open questions about balancing different concerns. Projects running behind schedule and delivery of a highly visible national program at risk.
Recon embedded in client team
Recon took over day-to-day management of client working team and helped develop, validate and roll out new analytic methodology. Multiple critical issues addressed and project risks avoided or mitigated.
Program rolled out and used as a model
Complex project with multiple data vendors, sophisticated analysis and many dependencies delivered on time. Learnings documented for future programs and used as a template for subsequent cost and quality programs.
