Recon Strategy is a strategy consulting firm specialized in healthcare, supporting industry leaders and emerging innovators.  We help our clients develop strategy, find new business models, form new companies and lines of business, and redesign existing businesses. Given our exclusive focus on strategy, our projects typically last from weeks to several months, enabling broad exposure to the healthcare industry in a short period of time. The work is consistently intellectually challenging, requires minimal travel and provides the opportunity to work with a vibrant, energetic team. Our clients include major leaders across the healthcare industry, among them: life science companies (e.g. biopharma, medical device, molecular diagnostics), healthcare providers (e.g., top academic medical centers, health systems, ACOs), national and regional health plans, digital health firms, and supply chain players.  In addition to supporting clients that are established companies, we reserve a portion of our time to work with early stage enterprises and mission-driven non profits.  Recon Strategy was formed in 2010 and has offices in Boston and Seattle. The partner group shares a common lineage at the Boston Consulting Group supplemented by diverse trajectories through academia and industry driven by a desire to work on the biggest and most important problems faced by the healthcare industry.

You want to be part of a fun, down-to-earth workplace. Consultants have responsibility for research and analysis of specific project elements and also contribute across all aspects of project delivery.  A typical week will involve interviewing industry experts, analyzing data and extracting key insights, developing a point of view on how project learnings will answer the overall strategy question, and creating materials that articulate these ideas.  Consultants also have opportunities to contribute to the firm more generally, for example through side research projects or by taking ownership of an internal process.

Qualifications 

• MUST have 2 – 3 years strategy or management consulting experience in healthcare or life sciences 
• Available to start August 2023, other start dates possible
• Relevant bachelor’s degree with a focus on domains requiring rigorous, data-driven thinking
• Demonstrated interest in healthcare or related fields; significant exposure is a major plus
• An ability to communicate complex concepts in a straightforward manner
• An ability to actively listen, engage in rigorous debate and participate in collaborative thinking
• A passion for being part of a team, and delivering fresh perspective with supporting evidence
