  • Late clinical stage biotech seeking to grow company pipeline with a commercial launch projected for the following year.
  • Client had promising early-stage in-house portfolio with longer-term horizon, but sought opportunities with potential for near-term value inflection beyond lead asset.
  • Client has a limited BD team, so needed a consulting partner to help with rapid prioritization of potential in-licensing opportunities and deeper analysis for assets of higher interest.

Opportunity triage and deep dive

  • Developed bespoke framework for identifying potential assets that aligned with company priorities, scientific/clinical adjacencies and potential commercial footprint.
  • Screened 50+ opportunities sourced from company and investment banks; filtering by scientific, clinical and commercial dimensions to prioritize ~10 for deeper analysis.
  • Conducted detailed assessments included KOL interviews and secondary research with focus on strength of biologic rationale, time/cost to POC data, market potential given standard-of-care and competitive pipeline.
