CASE STUDY
Clinical research strategy
Large university wanting to dramatically increase its clinical research footprint
A nationally recognized university without a medical school but with robust research activity in life sciences and health wanted to grow the ability of its faculty to engage in clinical research.
Identifying investments and partnerships that will lead to success
We performed a detailed inventory of aspirations, capabilities, and gaps of faculty for clinical research and compared it to the aspirations, capabilities, and gaps of local healthcare provider organizations in the area. That allowed us to determine which offerings would be complementary and what partnerships would have the highest chance of success. In addition we reviewed economic opportunity and viability by research type and funding sources.
A plan to enable and fund a clinical research capability
University now has a clear, milestone-driven business plan to develop its clinical research capability
